Team INARI WORKS / Santic - Cyclocross Chiba
Cyclocross Chiba 2022-23
With support from Santic, Kino competed in the first race of the new Inari Works organization, the Cyclocross Chiba, held along the coast of Chiba.
He was in the ME (Men Elite) 3 class at the last cyclocross, but has moved up to the ME2 class this time.
He used to race mainly hill climbs, but in the last few years he has increased his involvement in road racing and last year he started racing cyclocross.
Although he has little experience in cyclocross, he has been able to step up quickly with his own abilities.
After the start, I was in no hurry to match the riders running in front of me, and I successfully dodged the traffic jams and fallen cars in the early stages, and went to the sandy beach area in about the 30th position this time.
I had to ride carefully, but when I dodged a couple of front runners here, my front wheel got stuck in the sand!
When I shifted down in a hurry, the crank spun out and stopped once. I had caught up with them, but here I fell to the back of the pack.
I had to push hard to catch up!
He pushed hard and by lap five he was up to 12th place.
In the remaining two laps of the seven-lap race, he was in a battle for 11th place with rider number 29.
The other rider has more skill, so he pulls away in the corners and sand pitches, but on the straights and over the hills he pulls away in the opposite direction, and the dead heat continues.
They repeatedly overtook and overtook each other in each other's specialty area, and on the last lap they just barely overtook their opponents to finish in 11th place!
We enjoyed 40 minutes of full gas.
Having finished at the top this time, we can start the next round at the front, which will make it easier to aim for a higher position.
There are more cyclocross races in late January and early February, so I want to enjoy riding while achieving better results.
